English Translation
The Border Without Night by Tian Hao is a documentary work focusing on anti-narcotics police. It records 462 dangerous operations over 1,826 days, vividly presenting shocking stories of pursuit and escape. The book is pided into six chapters, as follows:
1. "The Strange Experience of Qiao Fei, the Gangster": Qiao Fei's lover Tan Qingxiao comes from a family of police officers. As an undercover police officer, the two finally failed to achieve a happy ending, which is a pity. Qiao Fei's childhood friend Lin Caijun turned out to be the source of fatal danger to him, which can be described as "guard against fire, theft, and Lin Caijun". Qiao Fei's experience in Myanmar was full of dangers at every step; he had to think twice before speaking and acting, and always predict possible situations and figure out countermeasures. His words were highly strategic—his communication with Zi Qiang and his sowing of discord among Wang Yi, Da Zhong, and Lin Caijun all showed his careful thinking and linguistic wisdom.
2. "The Perplexing Mobile-Controlled Transaction": The police tracked down the suspect Bai Long by following clues, which confirms the principle of "never commit a crime"—crime not only ruins oneself but also causes irreparable harm to the family and children.
3. "The Mysterious Night Walker in the Video": The story reveals that while money is indeed important when a family member is ill, one must never be clever by half or cross the legal red line; crime will eventually lead to more losses than gains.
4. "A Failed Operation That Successfully Rescued Hostages": This chapter highlights the importance of investigation and contingency plans, and also shows that the passage of time and changes in the situation are often the biggest variables and constraints for an operation.
5. "The Female Drug Trafficker's Waterloo in Life": The plot is full of unpredictability—Wei Guiyang got lost accidentally and even encountered the military head-on; in addition, the story also reflects the detail that "women's intuition is often very accurate".
6. "The Desperate Journey of Gu Zhe, a Fellow Townsman": Gu Zhe's ending confirms the principle that "one should not lose ambition when poor, nor be arrogant when rich", and further interprets the profound connotation of "if one's virtue does not match one's position, disaster will surely come".
